In the welcoming arena of the Dressuur en Springstal de Ijzeren man in Weert (The Netherlands), Stichting Dutch Sport Horse Sales can look back on a breathtaking success.
Twenty-five four-year-old and five-year-old jumping horses made a total € 1,765,000 with an average price of € 70,600 per horse.
Ariantha (Corland x Emilion x Voltaire) was the absolute star of the auction. The breeding product of Mr D. Noordhuis from Wyster was sold for no less than € 280.000 to America. She is going to Jennifer Crooks’s yard. This makes the talented and powerfully-jumping mare the most expensive horse ever to have been sold during Dutch Sport Horse Sales.
The five-year-old grey mare Ramona (Ultimo van ter Moude x Umour du Fenaud x Oredo de Paulstra) was sold for € 145.000. A group of investors backing Andre Thieme (Hanburg Derby winner in 2007 and 2008), bought this mare who shows exceptional ability and jumping technique.
The five-year-old Guidam x Burggraaf x Nimmerdor chestnut stallion has a superb way of jumping. The sympathetic-looking Amidam is leaving for America for € 125,000. The equally-aged five-year-old grey Alban jumps with an unrivalled ability and was sold to Canada for € 120,000.

The selectors Paul and Emile Hendrix, Neil Jones and Yves Houtackers are exceedingly pleased with this splendid turnover, especially given the international developments in general and certainly in the equestrian sector. All the horses were sold and what is important to Stichting Dutch Sport Horse Sales is that buyers return with pleasure to the next edition of DSHS.
The Dutch Sport Horse Sales motto: ‘High quality youngsters selected by horsemen’ certainly proved true in this edition. The extensive knowledge and experience of the selection committee in being able to assess a good young jumping horse contributed to the tremendous success of the seventh edition of Dutch Sport Horse Sales.
