This Lucky Special was purchased as a foal by Stal Hendrix and has an outstanding pedigree, consisting of purely first-class progenitors and to boost a damline that leads in the fourth generation back to the Grand Prix mare Especiale. Under Eric van der Vleuten, this Voltaire mare took part in the World Cup Final in Geneva and won several Grand Prixs. Lucky Special’s dam Heavenly Special has competed at international 1.35m level and is a full sister of the KWPN approved stallion El Primero, who continues his sport career in the States. Granddam Zo-Special is a half-sister of several international showjumpers, including the 1.50m level competing Also Especial (s.Argentinus) ridden by Malin Parmler. This small but successful damline also produced international 1.50m showjumpers such as Be Special (s.Chacco-Blue) and Especiale Too (s.Ustinov). With his natural talent and jumping qualities, Lucky Special now does justice to his strong origins. He is sired by the Olympic medalist Cardento, who has established his name as a top progenitor with excellent performing offspring such as Catch Me Not S, H&M Cue Channa, Kilkenny and Grand Slam VDL.
