Under Jonathon McCrea, the stallion Aristoteles V (s.Padinus) was very successful at the highest level. Together they won the Grand Prix of Saugerties and Bromont in 2018. Novastar van de Krekel is bred out of a half-sister of Aristoteles V, who is now back on European soil for breeding purposes. Via top sire Numero Uno, this line goes back to the valuable grandmother Tableau-Vivant. In addition to Aristoteles V, she also produced Michel Hendrix’s international 1.50m showjumping horse Fjury V, a full sister of Novastar’s dam GabriĆ«lle V. Her father is multiple Grand Prix winner Gaspahr, who is developing into a fixed value for the Italian team under Giampiero Garofalo. The oldest children of the scopey Gaspahr are at the start of an international show jumping career and are making a big impression in the young horse competitions. This is also the case with Novastar van de Krekel, who combines the scope of his sire with the excellent riding qualities of his dam’s sire Numero Uno. This 5-year-old gelding therefore seems to have all the qualities necessary at the higher level of the sport.
