It’s for good reason that this very likeable gelding is named after a celebrity. Thanks to his correct jumping manners and outstanding riding traits, Van Gaal Z boasts many possibilities for the sport. Therefore, he can follow in the footsteps of his very successful sire Vagabond de la Pomme, who has placed numerous times in Grand Prix-, Nations Cup- and World Cup competitions under Pénélope Leprevost. Vagabond de la Pomme is also making inroads as a breeding stallion with offspring at the highest level, among them Jenson van ’t Meulenhof and J’Adore van het Schaeck. Van Gaal Z’s dam Prestina brings valuable performance genes to this pedigree from the foundation stallion Polydor. Bred to Calvaro Z, she produced the international 1.45m show jumper Calgary Z, who Koen Vereecke rode to fifth place in the final of the World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses for seven-year-olds in Lanaken. Other notable horses from this direct Westfalen line include the stallion Corlensky G (s.Cornet Obolensky), who is approved by several studbooks; and the international 1.45/1.50m show jumpers Lavall 10 (s.Lord Logger) and Cornelia (s.Cardento).
